Standard - Advanced. Threnody with Fanfares is dedicated to trumpeter Deborah Calland, who, with her husband Barry Millington, instigated the notion of this work. This piece, the longest of the set, combines two completely opposed motives: the lament or sigh and the royal fanfare.
