Dad is Paul Schocker, a virtuoso pianist & Juilliard teacher, who spent a life in pursuit of musical excellence in himself & others, & who obviously passed this passion to son Gary. A top-ranked musician, Paul is said to have had the utmost respect for those who could compose, & must have taken great pride in the son who became the most-published living composer of flute music, as well as one of the flute’s greatest proponents & performers. For Dad is a remembrance of the recently-departed Paul.
