Not a Midsummer Night’s Dream, but „A Winter Night’s Music“ – with electronically produced wind noise: “Very soft winter wind as it sounds from far away through the window“ (composer’s annotation). Thus indoors it is comfortable and warm, the cosy room filled with swaying melodies. Finely tuned to this the wind’s melody only hints at the harsh, hostile winter night. The Serenade is an allusion to Ingmar Bergman’s film “Wild Strawberries” and the idea of an idyllic retreat evoking memories.
