The guitarist José Tomás (1934-2001), a pupil of Andrés Segovia, was himself a renowned teacher who produced famous soloists such as David Russell and Manuel Barrueco. He was also known for faithfulness to the original and clever fingerings in his arrangements and transcriptions.
