This book introduces violinists to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions and takes the monotony out of learning. These melodies are catchy and easily memorized, utilizing repetition of each shift so that shifting is practiced many times. More fingerings are given in the first pieces of a new position and are gradually dropped as the student is expected to learn them.
