LONDON COLLEGE OF MUSIC’s Drama syllabus gives learners a series of goals in performance, and stages on which to develop personal ideas about literature and drama through their own research. LCM Drama exams allow candidates the opportunity to show not merely technical efficiency but emotional truth. The focus is on live performance — a transaction that involves both the speaker and the listener, not just a display or a set-piece construct. We look for a spontaneity that reflects the intentions of the author and a technical ease that supports the truth of each performance.

London College of Music handbooks contain all of the material that is needed to take an LCM exam in a single publication, including a selection of performance pieces in each of the three forms, Prose, Drama and Verse. These pieces have been carefully selected to provide a range of voices and styles from different periods.
