Pieces included in this book are from all five stylistic periods,some by well known composers and others by less familiar composers. General stylistic information is given for each period and pieces are arranged in approximate order of difficulty within each period. Dennis Alexander has composed one piece for each period,showing that a modern composer can take the traits from any period and compose in that style. Concise biographies of all composers are presented and there is also a glossary.
