"These songs by RVW are excellent to say the least. I have had the opportunity of performing them and can recommend them to the serious recital singer. As an accompanist the piano writing is both satisfying and challenging and RVW's innate understanding of the medium never allows for any one to "out perform" the other, as is the case in so much lesser quality material. Excellent recordings exist - in particular by Thomas Allen and Geoffrey Parsons."
