Editions Max Eschig presents the fourth volume of its critical edition of Heitor Villa-Lobos’ collected works for solo guitar edited by Frédéric Zigante. The pieces are his famous Chôros n° 1 and, appearing in print for the very first time, two pieces written in his youth: Simples (1911) and Valsa Concerto n° 2 op. 8 (1904).

This edition is the result of careful analysis of all available sources and is prefaced by an introduction that looks at the historical and musicological background (in French, English and Italian), plus a commentary that includes all the extant alternative versions for Chôros n° 1.
