Bill Whelan
Renowned composer, producer and arranger Bill Whelan has worked extensively in theatre, film and television.

His many production and arranging credits include working with artists including U2, Van Morrison and Kate Bush. As a composer he has written a number of orchestral works including The Seville Suite, The Spirirt of Mayo and The Connemara Suite. He has written original music for many plays and received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for his adaptation of HMS Pinafore.

Following the enormous success of Riverdance, the seven minute interval act produced for the Eurovision Song Contest 1994, work began on a full length stage show of the same name. Riverdance - The Show had its first performance at the Point Theatre in Dublin in February 1995. Since then it has been seen live by more than 22 million people and by a television audience of nearly 2 billion. Riverdance CDs, DVDs and videos have sold million of copies worldwide and in 1997 Bill was honoured with the Grammy Award for 'Best Musical Show Album' for the Riverdance CD.
