A piano repertoire classic published in the Russian Piano Classics series. Authoritative editions, beautifully produced with introductions and performance notes by Peter Donohoe and distinctive art covers.
"I had expected that this edition would be as good as Boosey & Hawkes' edition of the Rachmaninoff Preludes, but it falls short in two points. First, the printing is occasionally a bit small. Second, the introduction is divided into two parts: one, found aptly at the front, and the other, on page 107 at the end. The first part contains a pointer to page 107, but the second part does not reference back to the original page, which can be confusing to a reader who stumbles upon the second half. These two issues, along with the absence of bar numbers, limit this book to 4/5. (Bar numbers were not present in the Preludes either, but in that book other aspects were better.) However, the printing is still very clean and clear, with good space for written annotation. As such, the edition is still recommended."
